The 2021 Bacchus Family Wine Red Blend is a single vineyard wine from Margaret River, Western Australia.

The blend comprises of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to create a savoury and elegant wine.

Perfect for these cold winter evenings.

The fruit is selected from the best patches of the vineyard and blended together at harvest, co fermented in small open vessels with selected yeasts and hand plunged daily to extract the best out of the grapes.

After basket pressing the wine is matured in French oak for 16-18 months before bottling. Hand made utilsing modern technology with the utmost respect of old traditions. Unique and only available in very small volumes.

This undiscovered wine will be the perfect talking point at your next wine dinner.

Jake Bacchus, the winemaker, carefully chose a career in wine. Why wouldn’t he, with a name like “Bacchus”, the Greek God of wine! His career started in 2002 and Jake honed his craft by working at wineries in other countries like Italy, France and America.

The winemaking for this wine is very minimalistic and intervened with only when necessary giving these varieties the best chance to show their true potential. Get it right in the vineyard and the rest of the process is more custodial than manipulative.

Hand picked, hand made, hand bottled and packaged by the Bacchus family and sometimes a few of our friends. The wine was left on skins for 29 days and was basket pressed and matured in 86% new French oak.
