"The NV Extra Brut Rosé de Meunier is dazzling. Rich yet focused, with superb depth, Laherte's Extra Brut Rosé is a magical Champagne in every way. Orange peel, sweet red berry fruit, cranberry, mint and chalk are some of the many aromas and flavours that develop as this breathtaking Champagne shows off its pedigree. In a word: magical.
The NV Extra Brut Rosé de Meunier is endowed with terrific energy, cut and focus. Readers should expect a taut, vibrant, yet also weightless style of Rosé.
Red berry, mint, white pepper and chalk notes are all finely cut in this super-expressive, inviting Champagne from Aurélien Laherte."
Rated 94 / 100 - Antonio Galloni
This is another superb value in a market where rosé wines are getting more and more expensive. This bottling was disgorged with just 2.5 g/L dosage and is based on the 2014 and 2015 harvests. It's a blend of Meunier 'done three ways'.
Firstly, 60% of the volume comes from fruit pressed off in the traditional way, making a white wine (and 40% of this component is reserve wines aged in barrels). Then 30% of the blend is made as a saignée (macerated) rosé, where the juice is left in contact with the skins for a short period, and, finally, 10% of the blend comes from a full-blown red wine.
The fruit comes from vines with an average age of 25 years, and more than 40 years for the parcels that produce the red wine. The wines are fermented and aged in a variety of vessels/vats, foudre and old demi-muid barrels before being transferred to bottle for secondary fermentation. In simple terms this is a deliciously vibrant, complex and vinous rosé, packed with red jube and grenadine fruit, hints of iodine and terrific freshness. It is one of the best value Champagnes we know of. (Base 15. Disg. Jan 2019)
LAHERTE FRÈRES - Champagne Rosé de Meunier is a blend of 60% Meunier vinified off the skins, 30% Saignée and 10% still Red wine, a combination that works beautifully, equal parts 2016 and 2015. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: April 2018.

LAHERTE FRÈRES have created a range of authentic, pure and unique Champagne wines – authentic like our land, pure like our terroir and unique like our work. At LAHERTE FRÈRES, the expression “terroir wine” takes on full significance.
Today, 80% of the estate’s wines are fermented and matured in wooden receptacles (we own about 350 oak barrels, as well as 6 casks and 1 truncated-cone tank). This enables us to preserve and highlight the features of each locality and to let grow our wines, coming from 75 plots.
We think that the best way to make the most of our terroir is to reveal its intimate personality through our wines. Massal selection, plot by plot vinification, immediate and delicate pressing, and minimal dosage are key elements of our wine-growing strategy.
Because we are passionate about what we do, we follow a largely hands-off approach to allow the terroir to display its whole character. From the deep roots of the land to the cellar, we are continually striving to highlight the true nature of our vines. This conscious and sensitive approach, that has always been close to our hearts, shapes each and every LAHERTE FRÈRES cuvée.
Throughout the year, LAHERTE FRÈRES are fully dedicated to their vines and follow carefully their development. They are constantly on the watch to better appreciate their natural beauty, by observing, feeling, tasting, listening, touching.
The Grassl' Vigneron Mineralité glass’s design, with an ample bowl to assist with allowing the wine to open is complimented by a narrowing chimney bringing focus and precision to the nose. The Mineralité glass is ideal for acidic wines with verve.
