BASS PHILLIP - Chardonnay Estate 2018

Simple chardonnay with all the breeding of a cool climate wine: soft, nutty palate with citrus; rich mid-palate flavours, rolling into a fresh, slightly sour but lingering finish. Great food wine: drink now! The wine does not change greatly with time: it displays all the the features of “drink up now”!

Characteristic
Bright straw colour with a watery hue. Lifted aromas of ripe nectarine, bees wax and lemon butter mix with biscuity oak, citrusy nougat, light almond and spice notes. Rich peach and nectarine fruits are texturally well rounded with elements of bees wax, lemon butter, biscuity oak and spicy nougat sitting underneath. Finishes with good freshness and a refined Burgundian like aftertaste. 

AGEING POTENTIAL: 5-6 years

Made in a simple and traditional manner, with low-cropped vineyards, no irrigation and minimal intervention in the winery,  the wines of BASS PHILLIP display flavours which are characteristic of the region and their individual vineyards.
