The Don vineyard in Ebenezer is an exceptional place to grow grapes. Viticulturist Adrian Hoffmann’s philosophy, knowledge and passion are virtually unmatched in our region. The Don’ has been aptly named as the head of the IZWAY family, in a similar vain to the status that Adrian is gaining with his peers in the Barossa Valley.
The wine has incredible presence in the glass and immediately reveals floral notes of lavender and cassis as well as dark soy, cherry and orange rind. The palate shows distinctive dark chocolate, coffee and kecap manis and has a plush, silky and stylish texture.
The aromatics are lively and fresh, impressive and bold, with bright red fruits masking the darker more classic Ebenezer traits. The texture is velour like; silky, smooth and sexy. Cranberries, musk cinnamon and star anise leap from the glass. A cool fermentation created a wine with both freshness and richness that has carried through to the bottle. The new oak component is looking elegant and balanced through careful refinement.
This wine can be decanted and immediately enjoyed or concealed in the cellar for the next 10 to 20 years.

Our job is made easier through access to the amazing old-vines and abundant sunshine that makes the Barossa Valley so famous across the globe. Wines of purity, energy and vitality that speak clearly of the region we call home.
Our wine making is simple and minimalistic, based on old world, hands on techniques. We limit our acid additions as much as possible, rarely use nutrient, never use tannin or any other additions and we never fine or filter our wines.
We use all old oak (apart from 2 barrels a year) and age some of our wine in large oak Fudre (2.4kL). We also use some whole bunch winemaking with Grenache and Mataro and only destem (we don't crush) our Shiraz.
Grassl's Vigneron Series Decanter is compact, ultralight, versatile and easy to clean. It's cold cut rim allows the glass to be sealed to a non-porous condition and ensures a smooth delivery from the decanter to the glass. The steep passage between the widest part of the decanter allows a smooth pour and ease to clean.
