Characteristic
This is a selection of the best barrels of shiraz from the century-old vines near the winery; the colour is good, the wine with a great array of spice, dark chocolate, black cherry and blackberry fruit. One of our favourites.
Very soft and approachable in youth, with a long, silky-smooth finish. Under this soft exterior is a solid backbone of ripe, long layered grape and oak rounded tannins with no sharp edges.
'THE STOCKS' single vineyard personality will grow through the initial primary fruit and vanillin oak flavours resulting in a complex and sleek demeanour. A powerful elegant wine which can cellar for over a decade.
This lush and structured Shiraz will stand up well to rich dishes like Slow Cooked Beef Ribs and Rare Seared Venison or Roasted Winter Vegetables or Eggplant Parmigiana... Or just savour on its own at the end of a meal or with some fine select cheeses.

'THE STOCKS’ Shiraz really comes into its own when aged in bottle. This is a wine that will reward your patient cellaring with the further development of its unique terroir characteristics. Ten to fifteen years is the sweet spot and we have enjoyed amazing bottles of previous vintages twenty or more years on.
